A slow morning routine that actually sticks
27 July 2026

Most slow morning routines fail because they turn into another to-do list. Mine works because it asks for almost nothing.
The rule is simple: the first hour of the day is mine, and the phone stays face-down. I open the shutters, make an espresso properly, and do nothing with it for a while — watch the rooftops, let the day arrive on its own.
That is the whole thing. No journaling quota, no five-step ritual. A slow morning is not about doing calm things quickly; it is about doing one thing slowly, and meaning it.
Give the first hour to a screen and the day feels borrowed. Keep it, and everything after moves a little slower. The world will still be there at nine.
